Salmon with lemon piccata sauce

Recently, my mom and I were contemplating what to make for dinner. I had a hankering for salmon, and wanted to learn some different sauces to go with it. We decided on a lemon piccata sauce, which I love with salmon or chicken. I’ve never made it on my own, so my mom walked me through it.

To start, we heated the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven heated up, I placed the salmon on a tray with tin foil and drizzled it with olive oil. I then sprinkled it with some salt and pepper for flavor, and that’s all you have to do to the salmon besides bake it. The salmon then went in the oven for 10 minutes while we made the sauce.

We combined 2.5 tbsp. of lemon juice with 1/2 cup of chicken stock, and placed it in a sauce pan. We allowed it to heat up to a boil, and once it was done we added capers to taste. Once the salmon was finished baking, we took it out of the oven and drizzled the sauce on top. Bon appétit! That’s all you have to do for a fancy sounding meal.

I love the sauce because it adds a bit of a lemon flavor, and the saltiness in the capers is a nice contrast. You can’t go wrong with this sauce, and you can put it on salmon or chicken. Try it out for yourself and enjoy.
