I have a personal motto that I stand very strongly by: don’t trust people who don’t like chocolate. I don’t understand how anyone could not love it. I will say though that I don’t like chocolate on its own that much – you’ll never see me eat a chocolate bar or a piece of chocolate. I prefer it baked into things, especially when it comes to chocolate chip cookies. My one exception though is fudge, because I love the softer consistency. I was having a hankering for chocolate, so I decided to satisfy my sweet took at the Chocolate Lab.
As I said, I’m not the biggest fan of plain chocolate so there aren’t ever too many options for me when I go into a chocolate store. I had been craving fudge for months, so once I walked into Chocolate Lab, the first thing out of my mouth was, “do you have any fudge?” I was hoping they would have a wide variety of flavors, but they only had milk chocolate and milk chocolate with peanut butter. I don’t care for peanut butter, so I grabbed the milk chocolate one.
I decided that a huge block of fudge just wasn’t enough, so I scoped out the rest of the store. I stumbled upon some chocolate covered Oreos, and I was intrigued. I debated for a while if the milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate coating would be better. I settled on the dark chocolate because I thought it would go best with the Oreo’s cookie flavor, and I figured since I got milk chocolate fudge I would mix it up and get dark chocolate.
I went home to enjoy my chocolate and I was very pleased. The fudge was a rich, soft, and creamy as I had hoped for. It was everything I needed and had been craving for months, and I was also very happy with the Oreo. I think the dark chocolate complimented the Oreo cookie well, and it added a nice chocolate dimension to the cookie. I’ll definitely be returning to the Chocolate Lab, and maybe try the chocolate coated cheesecake ice cream that I spotted.
