Lindsay and I had returned from Vegas and it was our first full day in Long Beach, CA. We had plans to go to the beach but to our unpleasant surprise, it was raining. We decided to go get a big, yummy breakfast instead. Lindsay said one of the best places to get breakfast there is Coffee Cup Cafe, and she said it wouldn’t be overly busy since it was a Monday.
We arrived at the Coffee Cup Cafe and it was a quaint little, diner-looking breakfast joint. We were seated and we looked over the menu. I’m typically indecisive when it comes figuring out what to eat, but everything on this menu looked so good I had a hard time decided. After weighing my options for a long time, I decided on Juan’s Favorite omelette.
This omelette is a combination of veggie chorizo, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, jack and cheddar cheese, and it’s topped with avocado. I subbed the veggie chorizo for regular chorizo, requested egg whites and ordered whole wheat bread for my toast. When I took the first bite of this omelette, I was in heaven. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best omelette I ever had – the meat in it really packed a lot of flavor, and the accompanying ingredients backed it up. The home fries were also ridiculously tasty because they were soft on the inside but crisp on the outside. Everything about this meal was a 10/10.
I was very pleased with my meal and left extremely full and happy. The Coffee Cup Cafe definitely stands out from other breakfast places I’ve been to because the food was so delicious and it was priced well. The service was good and I couldn’t have been happier with my experience.
