I visited my friend Cortney in St. Petersburg, and we went out for breakfast one morning with our friend Nicole. Cortney said there was a cute cafe near her she had been wanting to try out named Trip’s Diner so we decided to go there.
For my meal, I created my own omelette of two egg whites with onions, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach. I ordered it with wheat bread and fruit on the side, and asked for some hot sauce to go on top of my eggs too. My omelette was tasty, and the bread was nicely toasted and buttered. Normally when I get a fruit cup at a restaurant, I get a lot of honeydew and cantaloupe in it, which I don’t like as much as pineapple and grapes, which they give you very little of. I was happy to see that I got more pineapple and grapes than cantaloupe, so that made me very happy.
Cortney ordered some oatmeal because she wasn’t feeling too well. At first it came out cold, so she sent it back and then it was much better. It was a massive bowl of oatmeal – I have never seen so much oatmeal in one bowl – but she ate as much as she could. Nicole had ordered bacon, eggs, and hash browns, which she seemed to really like.
The service was pretty good, and the atmosphere was cute and quaint. The place was pretty busy, so it must be a favorite place for the locals. The food was priced reasonably and worth the money. It was a nice way to start my morning, and I would go back again.
