You can have a lot of fun with making oatmeal because you can give it any flavor you want. Sweet, savory, fruity, you decide. One morning, I wanted to start off my day with something sweet. For this oatmeal, I used:
- 1/2 cup of rolled oats
- Unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- Handful of chopped walnuts
- 6 pitted and cut dates
- Spoonful of brown sugar
I poured enough milk into the bowl so the oats were just covered. I then heated it for about 2.5 minutes.
While it was heating up, I chopped the walnuts and cut the dates. I cut the dates in half, and then chopped them up so they were little pieces.
Once the oatmeal was finished, I stirred it all together and then added a spoonful of brown sugar. After, I added the walnuts and dates. I then sat down and enjoyed my deliciously sweet breakfast.
