Spring break was coming to an end, but Lindsay, Phuong and I were in great denial. On a Sunday morning in Los Angeles, the three of us with Lindsay’s friend Emily went out for breakfast. Emily goes to University of Southern California, so she lives in Los Angeles and knew just where we should get breakfast.
We found ourselves at Nature’s Brew, a small, cute and hipster breakfast joint. From the many great options, I ordered the tofu scramble breakfast because I was feeling something on the lighter side. This meal was tofu scrambled with roasted bell pepper, kale, and Spanish onion served with toast, house-made jam and organic mixed greens. It also came with nine grain toast on the side.
Considering the bulk of my dish was tofu, it was really yummy. I kind of forgot it was tofu while eating it because it reminded me of scrambled eggs. The vegetables in it added a crunch and the tofu had a good flavor to it, although I can’t pin point what it was exactly. I wouldn’t normally think to eat a salad with breakfast, but I enjoyed having the mixed greens and salad dressing on the side. The toast was also very tasty, especially with the jam on it.
